It's scrap time in Texas!

So just a quick update on what I've been up to. Crazy changing of plans and sick kiddo that hit not even two hours into our road trip. So we are doing what we originally had decided to do: lay low and scrap! In other words, I could have time to finish a project or two and Sam to work on his huge paper that is due in August (which our future depends on).

First I picked up my December Daily from 2011--I only had less than 10 days left on it, so why not? It should be easy, right? That was three days ago! Seriously takes longer than I think. I totally admire those that can get these kinds of projects done. Or any project for that matter!

So here are a few glimpse of what I've been working on. I just finished this afternoon and will do a post when I can. Not sure if a video would be better, but then that would be another thing to learn!

Yay!! So now I just need to find some 3 inch binder rings. The two inch are way too small. This thing is a beast! I put the Mister Huey's next to it so you can get an idea of the thickness. Wow! I am so happy it is done but exhausted! Not sure I will do 25 days next year. I am thinking more along the lines of 12 moments or 12 favorite things. This really is cool though and I had fun playing with all the photos and product. Turned out a very eclectic mix. I like it.

You can find a link to my cover here.

So what are you working on now? Any others still trying to finish December Daily or other projects?

One Little Word July prompt: Awake Soundtrack

Hello July 2012. Hello One Little Word prompt: create a playlist for your life right now.

This is another prompt I have been waiting for. I started in December trying to figure out my word. When I heard the song "Awake My Soul" by Mumford and Sons I knew that Awake was my word. Initially I thought it was Awaken. Ever so slightly different. It just felt right.

Each month I have added a song or two to my playlist. I don't listen to it all the time, but I do quite a bit. I had it on when I did the artsy project from last month. I find it really does refocus and uplift me.

So here's my playlist, my Awake Soundtrack for 2012. It's a fun playlist, full of optimism and encouragement sprinkled with bits of wisdom to keep moving forward but still enjoy the moment. Get moving but take time to rest and savor the life that is going on all around me.

I feel it has made me more aware of the most precious things in my life right now.

I still need to make some changes to really get me word to become truly alive in my life. I know what I need to do but it's still hard. Just do it. Today's the day. Do it now. These words are going around in my head so much.

It's helped with my work, but I still need to get it in gear with my health and fitness. My sisters have been such an inspiration to me. I know I want to change. Change will do you some good. That's my goal for the next six months: continue eating better and add in the moving more. Wake up and walk!

Here is my prompt using nine of the songs and bits of their lyrics that stand out to me. Then I burned a CD and included it in my album along with printing out a playlist and a mosaic of the cover art in iTunes.

This is going in my One Little Word binder along with my Move More Eat Well prompts. I call it my therapy binder.

Another project I want to do is create a playlist for my life, like an overall playlist. Now that one would be a wild and crazy mix. Here's to living in the moment, living with music and living with love.

Have a wonderful July!

Planning with Pinterest and a Studio Calico contest

I wanted to share a fun thing with Pinterest. I love using Pinterest for pinning ideas, cool things I see, etc. I had not thought to use it to plan a mini-book or other project until Studio Calico posted their Pin it to Win it contest. Basically you start with one of their products or layouts from the gallery and build a kit around it. Then you can be entered to win a $100 gift card to Studio Calico! So cool! I went with a December Daily kit. It's about this time of year that summer CHA starts and you see the new releases for the holiday season. Plus, I just love that project.

Here is the link for the contest: Studio Calico Pin it to Win it Note: I think you have to like their page on Facebook too. And the contest ends July 26th so get pinning!

Here is a link to my board: My Dream Kit from Studio Calico

What would your dream kit include? I would love to see!

Have you used Pinterest to plan a mini-book or other project? I would love to see that too!
