Elle's Studio!

Excited to share that I'm also a member of the July-December 2013 Design Team for Elle's Studio! Very excited to get to play with her yummy products this month to create a Project Life insert, a layout and a summer minibook. Another fun part is getting to know the talented ladies on the team too! To check out the Design Team's Gallery click here.

First up for my July projects is a Project Life insert showcasing our spontaneous adventure to go "camping" to cook hotdogs and make s'mores to celebrate Father's Day. (it's also on our summer manifesto so that is a win!)

I call this For the Love of S'mores

I used an 8.5x11 enlargement of the campfire on the left (printed at home on Ilford Smooth Pearl Photo Paper.)

I used tags and paper from Saltwater. Just adore that washed out paper with the blue small text. I also adore the stamp set! Definitely a favorite, not just for summer too! I added a few embellishments like the cork arrow and wood veneer from Studio Calico. The cork letter is from their July Project Life kit (sold out.)

The right side is a Design G page protector from Becky Higgins Project Life. Definitely a favorite size of mine for inserts.

Also note that awesome polaroid photo is from Persnickety Prints. I had it printed on the linen paper and I love it! Love the washed out look and the texture it gives. You will definitely be seeing more of these in my projects. The nice thing: you choose that size and then you can crop it using their software (so it doesn't have to be on Instagram...you can just upload a photo and have it printed like this.) Also, it takes the stress out of trying to get the white borders perfect!

And finally, just wanted to point out the 4x6 photos with the white borders--I used the Simply White templates from Tracy Larsen. They are just awesome and will be using these more and more. I love finding ways to add white space to my Project Life spreads.

Okay! That's all for now! Check out my other layouts in the gallery if you want! I'll be back hopefully soon with my second layout featuring the July Elles' Studio tag kit: note that if you want to grab this kit do so quickly! June is already sold out! You can find it here.

Thanks for looking!

Hello Project Life Lessons!

I'm so excited I finally get to share with you what I've been up to the past few months! I'm so thrilled and honored to be teaching a class all about my favorite method of memory keeping: Project Life! It's at  Big Picture Classes, which is basically where I learned to scrapbook and I love the community and classes there. You can check out my new teacher profile here!

Not only that, but I get to teach with two of my very favorite Project Lifer's: Elise Blaha Cripe and Megan Anderson. They have been wonderful to work with, and it's amazing how well we clicked right from the beginning. Love these two ladies and am so honored to be teaching with them.

The class is three weeks long starting Sept 5th and is packed with not only our processes, but tips for photography, journaling, organizing and assembly. Cool thing: the PreClass is packed! We've each shared a welcome note and message + video + introduction to our process + our workspace + sample layouts. And that's not all! There is a rad manifesto that I've already printed and got on my wall. Worksheets and links to our supplies are all waiting for you so you can get started.

Here's a quick promo video:

Our overall goal is to help you find your own system that works and to be inspired no matter where you are in your Project Life journey.

Not sure what Project Life is? It's a simplified version of scrapbooking/memory keeping created by the fabulously talented Becky Higgins. You can use the products in any way you like, from theme albums to current life documentation. Click here to find out more.

You can see my Project Life posts here. (I promise I really do try to keep up--but blogging about it has been tough to keep up with my schedule. Follow me here on Instagram for the latest updates.)

The class is only $30 right now (33% off the regular price of $45 for an introductory time.)

Click here to check out more information and sign up! Hope to see you in class!

note: affiliate links where possible. I will receive a small commission from those who use my links to sign up. thank you!

Hello Summer

Last summer I followed along with Ali Edwards and created a Summer Manifesto, or bucket list/fun list; whatever you want to call it. We chose 10 things to focus on making sure we did during the summer, and even though it was a stressful summer schedule-wise, we had a great time enjoying some simple things like peaches and shave ice, and even some big things, like fireworks for the first time.

It was awesome

So when Ali posted her updated title and intentions for creating it again this year, I knew I wanted to do the same approach. I had already been thinking about our list, and in fact, have already completed a few! I debated on doing a mini album, and I still might. But I think the plan will be to just include it in my Project Life using Becky Higgins Design E page protectors (it's a 12x12 page protector with four 6x6 pockets.) I really loved mine from last year and am excited about this years.

You can get Ali's updated title here.
You can check out my 2012 Summer Manifesto/Bucket List here.

Our list this year (so far, we might change one or two):
  1. Go to the beach
  2. Build a campfire. Eat hot dogs and s'mores
  3. Fireworks
  4. Go stargazing (or possibly do a picnic + cloud-gazing...might make more sense with a kid.)
  5. Go to Schlitterbahn or at least go swimming.
  6. Eat at Amy's ice cream
  7. Road Trip
  8. Summer photoshoot
  9. Eat tomatoes and basil from the farmer's market
  10. Go blueberry picking

As with all my planned activities, I definitely try to go with the flow and just be happy to be together and savoring this time. However, having a few things on our list really helps us to live with intention, and I love that.

Join me if you would like to!

currently | the welcome back edition

Hello again!

If you've stuck with me this long, I thank you! It's been a pretty crazy year since February, but hoping that I can get started blogging again. I've been working on projects and sharing on Instagram, just not here on the blog. Unintentional blog-cation I guess. Anyways, I'm still here!

Thanks for sticking with me! :)

so to get me going again: a currently post

date: 6.1.13

location: my crafty space/office/bedroom

eating: going to make breakfast after I post this...probably eggs and turkey sausage. Until then, a Dove dark chocolate + peanut butter will have to do!

drinking: diet coke (noticing a trend here, but also trying to drink more water)

enjoying: sleeping in just a little...stayed up way too late last night watching "27 Dresses" and "Pride and Prejudice." (what can I say, it was a girl's night)

listening: to my Spring 2013 playlist. lots of the Safe Haven soundtrack as well as a little Phillip Phillips, The Lumineers, Fun and Sara Bareilles's "Brave"

wishing: I had a crystal ball to help with upcoming decisions. But like my awesome Dad told me, "If we had a crystal ball, then where would the fun be?"

thinking: I better make this quick. Lots on my to-do list!

making: some videos for an upcoming project. More on that to come.

feeling: trying not to compare myself with others. I am me and I am okay.

loving: loved doing Day in the Life yesterday and sharing on Instagram. The last one I did was Feb 2012. You can see that here. You can check out Ali's Day in the Life series here. She does one every month. I didn't want to attempt it this year with the other projects I have going on, but I really had fun with it yesterday taking photos here and there with my iPhone. Not as in detail as last time, more of a "glimpses of the day" approach. But it was fun to share on Instagram and see what others are up to. Not sure how I will bring it together. Might just use the right hand spread of my "week" in Project Life.

you can check out Tina's currents at Life Love Paper here

better get back to work!
